Buying a Used Car The Trade Off

When buying a used car in Trinidad and Tobago there are a number of things to take into consideration in order to narrow down your options. These include: •

Probability of theft

It is important to note that statistically the cost of parts and ownership and the probability of theft are inversely proportional. Meaning that the cheaper a car is to own the higher the probability of theft and the more expensive a car is to own the lower the probability of theft. Typically, you would find that Asian cars tend to fall into the cheaper to own/more likely to be stolen category while European cars tend to fall into the more expensive to own/less likely to be stolen category. So in short if low cost of ownership is high on your list of criteria I would recommend you narrow your search to Asian vehicles. However, if safety and peace of mind is your thing then I suggest you narrow your search to European vehicles.

It must be noted here that Public Relations tasks are 90 percent research and 10 percent execution. Each campaign must be thoroughly researched lest it becomes flawed from the onset. The research must be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely (SMART). There are just three other things more important than research – or, rather, that should be considered before embarking upon research since that will determine the extent of the very research itself and the depth of the campaign. The first, and most critical is your budget. The second is your target public and thirdly your message.

Omni High School It was six o’clock.

I arose, bright and cheerful for the first day of my new school. No one could have gotten me down that day, or so I thought because there was nothing better than leaving the old and going into the new, leaving my old secondary school and entering the new, Omni High. I literally hopped out of bed that morning and dived into the shower. After a quick three minute bath, I got to the best part of the routine, putting on my new uniform. I stared at myself in the uniform for at least fifteen minutes and then made my way to the kitchen for breakfast. A new page in my life was about to be written. Hi, I’m Nia and your’e about to enter my world at Omni High. “Well you lookin pretty good” My father complimented me as soon as I entered the kitchen. “Thanks,” I replied and smiled sweetly. I wasn’t much of a talker that morning because not only was I excited. I was also really nervous. There I was about to go to a new school, hoping to make new friends and get new and memorable experiences. Sometimes a new school could also mean a new life and if your’e not careful you could turn into something other than you, but I was confident that I knew who I was. I’m Nia, I told myself and that can’t change. So as I walked into the gates of my new school, I kept my disposition in mind while holding a cheerful countenance and I was cheerful and happy and ready to get started. I entered my class and looked at the faces of all of the students. They all seemed so confident and energetic. I felt nervous, anxious, shy, happy and excited all at the same time. With a few exceptions, like myself, the class would have all known each other from the previous form three year. The only thing that changed for most of these kids was the form, the only thing that changed for me was..everything. However that didn’t really bother me at least not that day. I found a really comfortable seat near to the window, and I sat waiting for the day to begin. “Excuse me”. I quickly glanced up and saw a strikingly pretty girl glaring down at me. She was probably about my height but her posture made her seem like a giant. Her uniform fit like a customized outfit, her nails were well manicured and she had all of these really pretty

keychains on her bag which looked ridiculously expensive. Her face would have been a lot prettier if she smiled though. “Yes, can I help you?” I replied quite innocently. “No honey, but you in my seat.” “I didn’t see anything on it..” I replied, obviously not knowing her status as queen in the class. “Sure you did, look my name right there” She pointed to a glamorous “Chanel” written boldly on the desk. “Okay then...” There was no point in arguing any further, seeing as her name was literally written on the desk. I was highly irritated though. I hate being pushed around. I moved to the seat directly behind her and tried my best not to let her pretense of superiority get to me. She rested her bag on the seat and took out a brand new Blackberry Pearl, and like everything else this Chanel owned it was customized to suit her glamour girl act. “Hey hey,” My thoughts were interrupted by this short, stocky girl who plopped herself right next to me. I immediately smiled, because she seemed really friendly. “You new right?” “Yeah” I replied. “Im Nia.” I promptly introduced myself” “Okay cool, well I’m Jamie.” She smiled at me, and then observed me for a brief moment. “I love your dreads.” “Thanks.” I replied. One good thing about me, that always sparks people to have light conversation is my hair. “I’ve had these dreadlocks in my hair since I was small. I recently dyed them at the ends in this goldish colour, just for the fun of it.” She nodded her head and smiled. “Yeah it look good, It looks neat” She stated while curiously touching my roots. My dreadlocks were a bit curly as I was what my Dad calls a “callaloo”. “Your’e parents don’t mind the colour though?” “Nah, well I live with my dad and he let me do it..” “Oh okay..what about your mom?” She asked. I hate when people ask me that question. But just as I was about to answer the teacher walked in.
