GN4124 4-Lane PCI Express®-to-Local Bus Bridge Complete Solution for Developing a PCI Express Endpoint Application The GN4124 is a four lane PCI Express-to-local bus endpoint bridge that is designed to work as a companion for FPGA devices to provide a complete bridging solution for general applications. In addition to a 4-lane PCI Express compliant PHY interface, the GN4124 also contains the link and transaction layers, and an applications interface that is ideally suited to FPGA interfacing using a small number of pins.

Since the PCI Express transaction/link IP is hard-wired into the GN4124, there is no need to license PCIe IP. The level of integration and very low power operation of the GN4124 make it an ideal alternative to using a PIPE PHY, where IP licensing and the cost of FPGA resources and power consumption are unattractive by comparison. Using the GN4124 allows FPGA resources to be spent on what differentiates the product rather than on implementing the PCI Express protocol.

Live on Power-up Since the GN4124 contains a complete type 0 PCI configuration space, it is live on power-up so that a plug-and-play BIOS can auto-detect it and enumerate it without an attached FPGA having to be configured. FPGA On-the-Fly Configuration Loader An FPGA configuration bitstream may be downloaded from the host system over PCIe to the attached FPGA using the on-chip FPGA Configuration Loader (FCL). This eliminates the expense of a dedicated FPGA ROM and makes on-the-fly reconfiguration and firmware upgrades simple. Any application requiring dynamic reconfiguration or firmware upgrades over PCIe can benefit from the use of the GN4124 as a companion device regardless of the size or type of FPGA device used. Local Bus Interface The local bus interface uses dual data rate SSTL I/O to accomplish very high data rates using the fewest possible pins. A single data rate clock is used for SSTL control signals and separate dual data rate source synchronous clocking is used for the DDR SSTL data. The SDR control signals operate at up to 200MHz and the DDR I/O operate at up to 400MT/s across 16 bits using a 200MHz DDR clock. This provides 800MB/s in each direction. Cost Free IP Gennum provides a complete solution around the GN4124 to accelerate your design cycle. This includes full documentation, an evaluation board with schematics, FPGA local bus interface IP, example FPGA application code, driver software, and example application software – all provided in source format. All source code is provided cost/royalty free for use with the GN4124. Single Lane Version Available For applications that don’t require the full performance of the GN4124, the GN4121 is a lower cost single lane version. It features the same local bus interface only operating at lower frequency. PCI Express 2.0 ReDriver™ Signal Conditioners PI2EQX5804, PI2EQX5864 Get System Stability through Signal Integrity

Pericom’s ReDriver signal-integrity technology provides both receiver-channel signal equalization and transmit-channel signal conditioning, eliminating noise and restoring signal quality. This allows PCIe 2.0 implementation across longer lengths of a cost-effective cable, multiple connectors and PCB trace for maximum signal integrity and system performance. Designed using Pericom’s proprietary high-speed differential signal equalizer technology, the PI2EQX5804 delivers signal integrity over 30 inches of FR4 trace lengths. Combining the programmable equalization techniques at the end of a trace (Rx) to compensate for signal attenuation and the de-emphasis technique to pre-compensate transmission on outputs allows a signal to traverse through a longer medium, beyond the standard PCIe limits. PI2EQX5804 features eight CML-differential inputs and output pairs and can “re-drive” four complete PCIe lanes. The PI2EQX5864 is a 4-lane (8 differential channels) subset of the PI2EQX5804 that features smaller packaging, and is a low-cost 5.0Gbps solution. From High Voltage to 0.5, 1 or 2 Amps of Brightness in a Single Design

The XRP7603, XRP7604 and SP7600 are a series of non-synchronous voltage mode PWM step down converters optimized to drive a string of high power LEDs at respectively up to 500mA, 1A and 2A of continuous current. A wide 4.5V to 29V input voltage range allows for single supply operations from industry standard 5, 12 or 24V power rails. A 1.2MHz constant operating frequency allows for small external components selection while an internal control loop compensation reduces the overall component count and solution footprint. With a 2.5% output setpoint accuracy and an input feedforward control, these devices improve stability as well as typical transient and regulation responses. Dimming and shutdown mode is provided via an enable function when required. A programmable over current and under voltage lock out protection insures safe operations under abnormal operating conditions. The XRP7603, XRP7604 and SP7600 are pin-to-pin compatible providing the most fl exibility when designing evolutive and scalable lighting solutions and are offered in a compact thermally enhanced RoHS compliant “green”/halogen free 8-pin SO package.

0.5A/1A/2A 29V Non-Synchronous Buck High Power LED Drivers

LTC3605 - a high efficiency, 15V, 4MHz synchronous buck regulator that uses a constant frequency controlled on-time, current mode architecture. The LTC®3605 is a high efficiency, monolithic synchronous buck regulator using a phase lockable controlled on-time constant frequency, current mode architecture. PolyPhase operation allows multiple LTC3605 regulators to run out of phase while using minimal input and output capacitance. The operating frequency is programmable from 800kHz to 4MHz with an external resistor. The high frequency capability allows the use of small surface mount inductors. For switching noise sensitive applications, it can be externally synchronized from 800kHz to 4MHz. The PHMODE pin allows user control of the phase of the outgoing clock signal. The unique constant frequency/controlled ontime architecture is ideal for high step-down ratio applications that are operating at high frequency while demanding fast transient response. Two internal phase-lock loops synchronize the internal oscillator to the external clock and also servos the regulator on-time to lock on to either the internal clock or the external clock if it’s present. The LTC3605 uses internal N-channel switches with RDS(ON)s of only 35mΩ and 70mΩ to deliver efficiencies as high as 96%. Its low minimum on-time allows low duty cycle operation at high switching frequencies. The LTC3605’s PolyPhase® operation (up to 12 phases) allows multiple regulators to be cascaded, running out of phase to minimize input and output capacitance. Current mode operation offers fast transient response while simplifying compensation. Additional features include output tracking and a shutdown current of only 15µA. The LTC3605EUF is available in a 4mm x 4mm QFN-24. Pricing starts at $4.25 each in 1,000-piece quantities
