Coming Events
June 3: District Cabinet @ DoubleTree Hotel, 6:00 PM June 6: Paul Harris Dinner @ Mama Mia’s, 6:00 PM
Over the next few editions of the Newsletter I’d like to take a look at the results of our Visioning Session conducted during the last Rotary Year. As you may recall, President Jerry Cummings organized the session led by District level Rotary leaders to take us through what our club wants to do over the next five years. One of the outcomes of that exercise was a focus on getting “Must see” speakers.
This year, thanks to all of our members and especially Program Chair, Jerry, we have had a most distinguished group of speakers. From Campbell Mayor Jane Kennedy to CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Carl Guardino as well as the City Attorney of Campbell, Dan Rich, we have had our share of local July 9: District Roast & Toast @ Saratoga Springs July 11, 12: Relay for Life @ Campbell Community Center July 18: President’s Debunking, @ Mama Mia’s
government representatives. We also hosted Emmy Award winning NHL Announcer, Randy Hahn and, of course, our own District Governor Gary Citti. We’ve also tapped speakers close to our club members: Don Payton shared his experiences fighting wild fires in Southern California; former member Bob Culp shared his poetry; fellow Rotarian Arley Marley told us about ELC #2.
Topics covered politics, finance, “green” energy, life-long learning opportunities, health and fitness and the history of the National Guard.
Looking forward, we can expect even more “must see” guests with efforts from all of our members. Vision checklist: CHECK!
