MULTIMEDIA LAB •
The Creative Innovation & Incubation Centre (CIC) was launched on the 19th February 2008.
•
Within, a Multimedia Lab is setup, the results of a tri-parte collaboration involving: o Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MDeC) 2D/3D graphic & animation production software application empowerment o Kuala Lumpur Sentral Sdn. Bhd. (KL Sentral) Space and infrastructure o IM Foremost Sdn. Bhd. (iM) Manage the facilities & equip Multimedia Lab with computers & hardware

The Multimedia Lab is a facility space equipped with workstations complete with software applications for 2D graphic design and 2D / 3D animation rendering productions

This space is open for usage to students, creative talents and companies involved in the creative multimedia content development (CCD) industry

The Multimedia Lab is equipped with 3 desktop workstation spaces and 1 mobile workstation equipped with hardware requirements expandable to include render farm creative content rendering jobs

Workstations are equipped with: Adobe CS3 Production, Autodesk Maya Complete and Autodesk 3D Max
o Benefits: Being an offsite facility to increase time efficiency & productivity catering to ad-hoc / additional computing power for graphic design and animation rendering jobs

The conducive environment and centrality of location of CIC would facilitate showcasing of creative works to clients, investors, employers, media and government officials

iM CG Skill Centre
CG SKILL CENTRE •
The iM CG Skill Centre provides for industrial-skill focused development for its trainees in the area of 2D / 3D animation
•
Working closely together with various partners in the industry and with the support of government initiatives, iM aims to create resources to help the CCD industry in addressing to the needs of talents in the creative animation industry
•
Through industrial feedbacks and network with foreign resources, iM aims to bring in experts in this area to conduct talks, sharing, workshops and industrial updates for creative multimedia practitioners in area of computer graphic, 2D/3D animation, arts and filming productions.
•
Through the shared resources created, it is with the aim that there would be a faster transfer of technology, know-how and further penetration on the uptake and growth of animation in Malaysia.
•
In view with government initiatives, via networking and industrial linkages, it is with the hope the local CCD industry could increase the export of creative content, supported by adequate number of skilled talents

The iM CG Skill Centre is setup with the collaboration, support and involvement by: o Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MDeC) Industrial inputs and needs o Kuala Lumpur Sentral Sdn. Bhd. (KL Sentral) Space and infrastructure o Caveman Solutions (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Caveman) Training resources o IM Foremost Sdn. Bhd. (iM) Training provider with hardware and software setup for the purpose
CG SKILL CENTRE COURSES / SERVICES OFFERED: •
Industrial Animations Skills Development (3 months Full Time programme)
•
Industrial Animations Skills Development (6 months Part Time programme)

Junior Introductory Hands-on Workshops (Form 2 – 6)

Seminars, talks, workshops and industrial updates for the creative industry
CG SKILL CENTRE Industrial Animations Skills Development •
Courseware is focused on industrial needs and developed with the input from people in the industry (business owners, experts and talents)
•
iM shall work closely with creative multimedia companies (CMC) in need of talents. Both parties shall work closely together in monitoring progress of trainees
•
The training period would be an assessment period by the CMC in considering to take up the trainees for potential contract employment
•
By working closely with the CMC, iM would ensure that the skills developed for the trainees stays and remain relevant with the current needs
•
Customization of skills development programme is possible upon special arrangement with the CMC for specific skill-related tasks which is unique to the CMC’s requirements
CG SKILL CENTRE Junior Introductory Hands-on Workshops (Form 2 – 6) •
The workshops are conducted with the aim of promoting awareness and interest in the area of 2D/3D animation through a gradual increment of skill acquisition from 2D graphic design to basic 2D/3D animation knowledge and skills
•
To address to the talents needs of the CCD industry, iM aims to address this shortage in the midrange term through developing a group of skill-focused talents in the area of 3D animation who are school-leavers (Form 5/6)
CG SKILL CENTRE Seminars, talks, workshops and industrial updates for the creative industry •
iM shall frequently organize seminars, talks, workshops and industrial updates for the creative industry through its local and foreign resources
•
Local / Foreign experts shall be brought in to conduct the sharing to creative multimedia practitioners in area of computer graphic, 2D/3D animation, arts and filming productions
•
Talks and seminars would also include professionals and experts in the area of creative arts and filming productions to encourage cross-pollination of ideas and concepts from related / disparate fields to further enhancement and value creation to the CCD industry
