What is MOPS? MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is an international organization that exists to encourage, equip, and help women become the best moms that they can be! Women who are pregnant or have young children (newborn through Kindergarten) are all invited to join MOPS! MOPS is caring through: • A program that is designed for all mothers of young children and is coordinated by the mothers themselves. • An open, caring atmosphere where specific needs of today's preschool mothers are met. MOPS is sharing in: • Small discussion groups where women interact, encourage and learn from one another. • A comfortable setting for social and spiritual enrichment for mother and child(ren). • The enjoyment of completing a craft with the opportunity for creative expression, a sense of accomplishment and deepening friendships. MOPS is preparing through: • Building a sense of identity and personal worth. • Instruction relating to womanhood, childrearing, marriage and building a home based on biblical principles. • Social and creative opportunities for the preschool child.

What happens at MOPS? At our MOPS group, you’ll have the chance to enjoy breakfast and socialize with other moms, hear from some great speakers, discuss important topics in mothering, participate in creative activities...and even enjoy a cup of coffee while it’s still hot! This year we will be exploring the theme “Together on Planet Mom.” When you become a mom, all of your relationships change - it’s as if you landed on another

planet! We’ll explore together how to thrive in these relationships.

Is childcare provided? We have a wonderful program for children called MOPPETS! Those under one year of age are cared for in a loving nursery setting. Older children are divided into age groups which allows each child to interact with children of similar levels. Their classrooms are filled with stories, games, songs, crafts, projects, playtime and a healthy snack. For your child’s benefit, class sizes are limited, so register ASAP to ensure that we have enough of our talented and qualified volunteer caregivers.

How much does it cost? There is a $50 registration fee for each session (Fall & Spring). Checks should be made payable to MOPS and must accompany your registration form in order to hold your place. Scholarships may be available and are awarded by a separate application. For a scholarship application, please contact the MOPS coordinator. All scholarship inquiries will remain confidential.

How to sign-up: Mail or bring your completed registration form and $50 registration fee to: Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Church 1825 Alamo Pintado Road Solvang, CA 93463 805-688-6323
