Regular Schedule

Dear Students: Welcome back from the break! Hopefully you are all refreshed and ready to pick up where we left off. Remember that classes will follow the Monday schedule this Tuesday, November 3. Please plan accordingly. Basketball, Tennis, Rugby and Cheerleading tryouts are this week from November 3-6. See the schedule for details. Grade 7 and 8 will have the opportunity to tryout for this year’s ISTA experience from November 4-6. See Mr. Mulhall for details. Congratulations to everyone involved with our last MS Assembly on Wednesday, October 21. It was great to see all the highquality work occurring here in Middle School. MAP testing for grades 6 and 8 will take place from November 9 – 13 and November 16 – 20 during English and Math classes. Please remember to: ♦ Ensure that you know the number of the computer you will be allocated in the lab. This computer number will be different for the Math Test and the Reading/Language Tests. Your Math and English teachers have a copy of the lists of computer numbers. ♦

Remember to bring a book to read when you have finished the testing.

Remember to go to the restroom and get a drink prior to test time.

Recently the Philippine president declared that Friday, November 27 will be a holiday in honor of Eid’l Adha. This festival, celebrated by Muslims and also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael. In line with the President’s declaration, ISM will be closed. Classes resume on Tuesday, December 1. Please plan accordingly. Ms. Fredericks and Ms. Sayson

New ISM Sweatshirts Have Arrived! Please visit the Bearcat Den to see the latest in ISM apparel.

Please donate your glossy magazines to PCF! WHY? Glossy Magazines cannot be pulped and recycled like regular clean paper here in Manila so if you don’t ensure that they’re made into something else… they just end up in a land fill.

WHAT does PCF do with them? Parents of the school children are employed to make beads out of them which, in turn, get made into jewellery and bags.

HOW does this help families? The money from the products generates income for them so that they can afford to buy food and clothes for their children.

WHERE? Collection boxes can be found in ES, MS and HS offices

Thank you for your support! "Dream the world you want and deserve to live in. Write it down. Communicate your vision passionately, as if your life depended upon it!" (Randy Hayes, Founder of Rainforest Action Network) www.ism-online.org/gogreen/
