Lesson Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to explain the water cycle and the state of the water in each stage. Ask students what they know already about the water cycle and stages of liquid matter Introduce key terms regarding water cycle and states of matter Overview of lesson and projects

Start power point outlining key terms, cycle stages and “fun facts” Explain three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas) Overview of cycle and what occurs at each stage

Guided Practice (15 minutes)



Class will participate in watching the video included in the power point slide Teacher will illustrate complete picture of cycle and states of matter on white board while asking students to recite key terms and stage names

Outline project guidelines and grading rubric Put students into groups of 6 and assign subtopic to each student Students will be required to present a slideshow using Popplet to showcase stages of cycle, key terms and states of matter Each student will be assigned a stage/state they will need to present to create a cohesive project explaining the water cycle Students will have time the first day to brainstorm ideas and go over their notes from teacher instruction to form their project idea
