Technology Integrated Lesson Plan Template 2 Focus on what you want the students to learn. Include objectives that will be assessed during this lesson. Use action words to describe skills and abilities that students will develop. Student will be able to …. Fully present the required components (following
PreRequisite Knowledge:
research by WebQuest) to the class, while fulfilling all components noted on the rubric.
List all technology skills and content knowledge needed prior to teaching this lesson.

1. Readiness/Motivation Use this space (in the lefthand column) to specifically describe what you will say and do for the lesson. It should be VERY apparent what the teacher AND students are to complete. Think of this space as a narrative for telling a substitute teacher what exactly to do during the lesson.
What will you do to activate students’ prior knowledge to help make connections? How does this lesson connect to previous lessons? What will you do to get student interested in this lesson?
2030 minutes.
Ask students what they know about the solar system(number of planets, placement of Sun, orbits). Discuss various space missions to study other planets. Split students into groups for planets and Sun. Students will be introduced to WebQuest. 2. Focus of Lesson (See above)
Describe the learning step by step.
Students will complete WebQuest, recording the following components: distance from Earth and Sun, size(diameter), atmosphere and surface composition, number of moons, at least one other distinguishing characteristic, and at least two pictures. 3. Closure to Lesson
Students will create two PowerPoint slides, one with information and another with pictures. These will be combined and presented to the class as a whole. The final presentation is printed as a
1 hour
How will you tie this lesson together at the end?
1 hour(to put together slideshow) 25 minutes(each group presentation).

handout for the class.
Number of Computers:
Technology Integrated Lesson Plan Template 6 Explain the adjustments to the lesson plan for the following environments: 1 computer only in classroom
26 computers in the classroom
Computer lab
Students will take turns at computer to complete research. Presentation could be with posterboard instead of PowerPoint slideshow.
Students will still have to take turns with computers. Only one group member on a computer at a time.
Each group member would be responsible for specific components, as they all have a computer to utilize.
Handhelds , laptops, or other technology
Same as with computer lab.
Modification for Differentiated Instruction
Assessments:
1. Briefly describe how you might modify components of your lesson plan for a special needs student. See attached handout. 2. Briefly describe how you might modify components of your lesson plan for a gifted student. See attached handout. 3. Briefly describe how you might modify components of your lesson plan for a student with a severe case of a “singular learning style or multiple intelligence.” See attached handout.
How will student learning be assessed? (It MUST be observable and measurable.) What criteria or rubric will be used to evaluate the lesson/unit? You must attach the assessments and/or rubrics being used. Assignments should align with standards listed above and directly correlate with the lesson’s objectives.
See attached rubric.

Jillian Demongeot EDTL 302 Lesson Plan 18 November 2008 Modification for Differentiated Instruction 1. In order to accommodate special needs students, I would ensure they are placed into groups with patient members that will be sure to incorporate everyone into the group. Students will also be allowed to use note cards to assist them in presenting the information as well. 2. Students could possibly be rewarded extra points for going above and beyond the required components. For example, finding more than the required information and smoothly incorporating it to the required components. Also, students could design their own WebQuest to help others learn about their topic.
3. This project appeals to several learning styles. Auditory learners will gain the most from the oral presentations. Students that learn by teaching others, one of the most efficient styles, will learn best while presenting their research. Visual learners will benefit from watching the slideshow and reading the handout that will contain all of the slides.
