Day 1 – Introductions and Family
Summer Camp 2006
Students will gain knowledge of today’s most popular American English names. Students will introduce themselves and each other to the rest of the class. Students will learn immediate and extended family terms. Students will play games to help develop English thought process.
Vocabulary
Students will demonstrate their knowledge of family terms through a quiz. Hobby, mother, father, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, cousin, second cousin, grandfather, grandmother, son, daughter, niece, nephew, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, husband, wife.

Go over top 2006 U.S. names on the list.
Discuss about them.
Ask if anyone has the same name.

Game - Name Game
Form two groups
S2: My name is Jack.
One student introduces himself/herself
S2-S3: This is Bo & I’m
Each student introduces all the preceding students.

Play game one time as a whole class.

Students repeat family terms after teacher.
Students fill in boxes with the Korean word.
Write all words up on the board and have students

Game – Family Feud
Divide Students into two “families”
One student from each family comes up.
Teacher gives students # of answers & then topic.
First student to raise his hand guesses.
If it’s on the card, write it down next to the number.
Next, the second student takes a guess.
If answer is higher number, his team has control. If

it’s lower or not on card, other team takes control.
The team then guesses answers.
If they are on the card, write them next to the appropriate number on the board.
If they’re not on the card, then that team gets a “X”.
If team gets 3 “X’s” then they’re finished guessing. (If guess all answers on card, they get all points.)
After 3 X’s then other team has 1 chance to guess.
If they guess right, they “steal” all the points.
If they guess wrong, the first team takes all points.
Play then continues the same only with a different topic.
Conclusion
Quiz – Family Member
Students take the quiz by themselves.
Correct quizzes together in class.
