Special Features of Korean Grammar •Words order in Korean sentences; Subject-Object-Verb.

3. Various endings ; ‘Tail’ modification – we change the verb tail part and add either speech forms or some expressions. - ㅂ / 습니다 ; 고맙습니다 - ㅂ / 습니까 ; 책을 읽습니까 ? - 아요 /- 어요 /- 해요 ; 좋아요 , 싫어요 , 공부해 요 - 아 /- 어 /- 해 ; 좋아 , 싫어 , 공부해 - 네 ; 자전거를 잘 타네 - 는가 ; 노래를 잘 부르는가 -( 는 ) 군 ; 말을 잘 하는군 - 자 ; 같이 가자
4. Honorific Pattern – To make an honor to the old and the higher position than you are, we add ‘ 시’ to the verb and change some of particles. 아린이는 학교에 갑니다 . → 할머니께서는 학교에 가십니다 . 미나는 친구를 만나요 . → 할아버지께서는 친구를 만나세요 . 라흐만은 누나에게 편지를 쓸 거예요 . → 선생님께서는 부모님께 편지를 쓰실 거예요 .
5. 6. Korean word order does not change in interrogative sentences. 교실에 학생들이 많습니다 . ⇒ 교실에 학생들이 많습니까 ? 월요일에 한국어 수업이 있어요 . → 월요일에 한국어 수업이 있어요 ?
7. The category of singular vs. plural is not obligatory in Korean. We are very generous in singular and plural forms 교실에 학생들이 많습니다 . (o) ⇒ 교실에 학생이 많습니다 . (o)
8. Korean does not have grammatical gender(female or male), articles(a, the) or relative pronouns(who, whom, where, that, when, why) .
