January: the month of chaos. This January proved to be controversial and unlucky for our hall. A series of chaos have invaded our hall that includes chaos in “whats the good word” and “case study”. However, we were lucky that finally the decisions were given in our favour. In sports also, LLR didn’t perform well. LLR had to satisfy with an overall 4th position in Hockey. We did fairly well in the inter hall hindi drams and choreo but not good enough to get listed in the top three. Gold in whats the good word For those who don’t know, let me tell you all, this gold is not just a normal gold. This gold not only signifies our knowledge in the field but also the fact that we are not the one who can be suppressed by injustice. We know how to fight for things that belong to us. Because of the mistake made by the gymkhana lit secy, we had to wait for our gold. In one round of the competition, she, instead of charging Patel, disqualified LLR because of which we were getting bronze. But thanks to Jeevan Jyoti, Deepak Cherian and Rahul Nanda, who brought back the gold. Gymkhana G.sec (soc cult) Abhishek Mishra was also helpful throughout this chaos. This is not the only mistake by the lit seccy, she had committed a number of mistakes earlier also. In Bengali elocution she carelessly handed debate grade sheet to the judges instead of the elocution sheet. In English elocution, she introduced a new judge Prof. Sudha Goyal, as Prof. Taraknath Majumdar was not available. She did this without informing any hall before the competition. Later at the time of event she had to shamelessly ask the judge to leave . Under these circumstances, the event was postponed. She has been suspended for 15 days for her careless attitude by the President, Gymkhana. After a long time, a decision has been changed on the basis of standing appeal made by a hall. Gold in case study LLR won gold in the case study event. This event was not also chaos-free. We were charged of exceeding the time limit by 5 seconds, despite of the fact that there was no effective indicator for the time limit. We were charged with a 10% penalty in the presentation part for exceeding the time limit. Patel hall made the G.secs of other halls to sign an appeal to the president, gymkhana for penalizing LLR. However, later we were able to convince the judges to charge us for the slide show part of the

presentation and not for the Q and A part. The credit goes to the whole team under the leadership of Varun Jain and Akash Agarwal. Varun was impressive in the Q and A part which proved to be the deciding factor Yo seniors!!! Participation of seniors has been the key factor for the fabulous performance of LLR hall in different events. They, apart from providing a sense of security also boost up the rest of the team members whenever required. Gaurav Tomar, working throughout the nights for drams and choreo is inspirational for the hall. The choreo captain Shobhit and shrikant did a great job. Bhati did justice with the role of terrorist in choreo. Varun and Akash lead the team to win the gold in Case Study. When asked to one of the seniors, he answered that he wants to give everything back to his juniors whatever has been taught to him by his seniors. Inter Hall Hockey LLR staged a fabulous show of classic hockey in the first three matches of inter hall matches by LLR. In rest of the matches the performance was not up to the mark and eventually we had to satisfy with an overall 4th position. Disheartening performance in cricket Performance of LLR in inter hall cricket matches was not as expected. Despite of the best team, LLR couldn’t make it to semis. However the performance of some of the players like Navjyot and Bipul Jeet were appreciated. First year player Praveen also played a fine innings in the last match. Participation of first years The active participation of first year students in different hall activities ensures a bright future. The amount of participation from first years in events like inter hall drams and choreo was quite impressive. Not only the quantity but also the quality from the second years is promising. Swarnendu and Soumik were wonderful on the stage in inter hall drams. All the first years .. keep the tempo high … well done . Silver in inter hall collage Under the leadership of Alkesh, LLR won silver in inter hall collage event. It is almost after 2 years LLR has won a position in Fine Arts event. The team members were Alkesh, Siddharth Vishnu and Kaustubh Srivastava. Overall position of LLR After a gold winning performance in case study LLR climbed to 2nd position in Tech GC with 115 points. Performance of LLR is disappointing in soc cult. With an aggregate of 145 points LLR is overall 5th in the GC table. LLR continues to dominate in sports with a total of 28 points.
