Josh Howard Ms. Wilson English II Persepolis SPES In Persepolis the imprisonment and death of Marjane’s uncle, Anoosh, caused her to lose faith in god. After Anoosh was murdered while in prison, Marjane said to god “Get out of my life!!! I never want to see you again!” Marjane was upset that god did not save Anoosh from being killed so she stopped believing in his powers. After Marjane dismissed god from her life she thought “and so i was lost,without any bearings… What could be worse than that?” These thoughts caused Marjane to realize that without god she was all alone. Therefore the death of Anoosh caused Marjane to lose all of her faith in god.
