Welcome to HUMANITIES

Over the time you study this subject you will investigate many related themes about the World and our place in the World. The Humanities take as their subject matter human behaviour. They provide unique ways to understand how and why groups of people have settled where they have, organised their societies, developed means of generating and distributing wealth and developed codes, laws and belief systems. I hope you enjoy this class. The following Domains will be used when assessing specific standards – History and Thinking Processes. Your report at the end of the semester will show a rating and growth point for these domains.

Due Dates August 8th September 8th October 24th November 14th November 24th

All work is to be submitted on the due date. Failure to submit the work will result in a letter being sent home and a possible Make-up session. If you are unable to submit the work, you must discuss a possible extension before the due day. This will allow the online computer program to be amended.

Class Behaviour

In class you are expected to follow classroom rules. All rules are about completing your work, contributing positively and assisting other students to be successful. If your behaviour does not allow this to happen, you should expect the following consequences. 1. Asked to modify you behaviour, shifted to another seat in the class. 2. Maybe recorded on variation sheet for – Time Counts, Ready to Learn, Switched On To Learning. 3. Asked to leave the classroom for a short period of time. 4. Asked to report to the Principal.
