1900-1910  Women -Gibson Girl LookIt was the personification of a feminine ideal created by Charles Donna Gibson -Shirtwaist blouses -Hats- enormous with birds, feathers, ribbons, etc.  Men -Formal wear -Frock coats -Spats -Hats

1911-1920: World War -I Women -Hobble skirts- women’s legs revealed for the first time. -Narrow shape. Men -Simpler form of dress more popular

1920`s Flapper -In 1920`s it was referred to the "new breed" of young women who wore short skirts & bobbed their hair. -Flappers were seen as brash for wearing excessive makeup, drinking, smoking and otherwise flouting social and sexual norms. Sportswear introduced

1930`s-Era Of Elegance Women -Bias cut -Cowl neck Men -Double breasted suits -Wide lapels -Shoulders broadened

1940-1950:World War -II Women -Separates introduced that can be mixed and matched - Bobby socks, pleated skirts New Look-Christian Dior -Full bust lines

-Tiny waists -Full skirts Men-Casuals Introduced

1950`s Donna Reid or “I Love Lucy” Look.

- Full skirts and strapless dresses.

1960`s- Kennedy Era Chanel Suit. Pillbox hat. Aubrey Hepburn Look. Hot Pants.

1970`s Pantsuits,wide legs with large cuffs/ bell bottoms hip huggers

-Pants for women became acceptable in the work place. -Long pointed collars.

1980`s Athletic wear more popular inspired by movie “Flashdance” Blouson style jackets . Batwing sleeves. 80`s power suits. Shoulder details.

1990`s  Doc Martens replaced athletic footwear. - Distinctive Feature- air-cushioned sole -Stitching around the sole -developed by Dr. Klaus Martens of Germany  Platform Shoes.

 Retro look.
