What does this statement mean? US President Ronald Reagan described the anti-Soviet insurgency in Afghanistan as freedom fighters. Years later, some of these same fighters are now seen as Taliban enemies, often labelled as terrorists. Complete some research on a significant person regarding the pursuit of social change or the fight for a country’s independence. Create a newspaper double page spread about a geographic area where there have been many acts of terrorism. Explain in detail what has occurred. 5. Terrorist Groups – PLO, IRA, Al-Qaida etc. Describe in detail two different terrorist groups. Origin, cause, main leaders, etc. How do these groups operate?
