Practice Teaching Form 6 Journal of Experiences Week 7

Date: February 18 - February 22, 2019

Significant Experience(s)

Learning(s)/Insight(s) Gained 

“Education is not the learning of facts but the training of mind to think” I always keep in mind that I should be doing two way abstraction, because when doing two abstraction I can really get ideas from them and also I know where they coming from.

 I have 5 class today but Ma’am Gonzales my CT has a observation that’s why she used my lesson plan and I also gave my powerpoint  presentation to her.

Giving of examples that are close to them is important. And also giving jokes is good to have a smooth class.

Day 1: Abstraction Monday February 18, 2019 Monday Attended the flag ceremony again. They have the election here, that’s why we extended in the flag ceremony to introduce the candidates. They have two parties here, Sinag vs Sandigan.

Honestly, When I’m discussing my abstraction I am amazed of their answers, They are really good you just need to push them and to process their answers, Follow up questions is a must, Don’t leave them hanging. Also, Some  of the students are shy to recite but I will not stop until they recite.  Overall, A productive Monday ahead! Day 2: Almost DONE!  February 19, 2019 Tuesday Tiring but so fulfilling, I’m almost done with module 14 with the 12 sections. But, not all of them because some of my sections are excused for the reason that they are chosen for the grand demo of other practice teachers. In two weeks of straight teaching to these 12 sections, I find it hard to choose which one I should use in my Grand demo. For now, I want

I don’t know why some of the students are shy to recite, but I am consistent. I will not stop until she or he share his or her ideas to the class. I always say “Kaya mo yan” “Stand up please” because they are too lazy to stand up. We also have a post-con after the class and there is no perfect demo, there is always room for improvement because nobody’s perfect. But, practice makes perfect. So practice! Ma’am observed me formally today, She observes me every day but I gave her the daily demo teaching tool as an evaluation. After class, we have the post – con. She told me to manage the time, because I extended in my one class. Also, She told me to improve follow up questions and in giving instructions. But, she told me that brain breaks is good, A nice way to boost their motivation. Also, she really like my voice. Loud and clear but also advise me to save it for my grand demo. Also, Good powerpoint hehe  Because of the gifs! Chalk

Ma’am Marte got mad to us because we didn’t update the Action Research because our group didn’t finalize yet.  That’s why we have a meeting tomorrow. Day 3: Quiz and Abstraction part  February 20, 2019 Wednesday

talk should improve, Ma’am told me to write at the other side of the board not in the presentation. Yes, I will do this tomorrow. Ma’am Gonzales always suggests something and I always follow her suggestions and keep in mind the things need to improve. Happy because I memorized some of the names of my students. I know all of them by faces but not in Names because they are too many.  But, now some of them I can call by their names because I remember them.

For now, I’m done with the 5 lower sections. That’s why Kyla (ST in Sta. Isabel) will now start the Module 15 to them. I am happy because when I’m sitting at the back my  When Kyla is teaching, My students are keep students keep on asking “Ma’am bakit hindi on asking me at the back “Ma’am hindi na ikaw ang magtuturo” My heart really melts, I ikaw magtuturo” And I don’t know but I kinda never knew that my lower sections would miss teaching them  Hahaha. For now, I will appreciate me because when I’m having class work on their grades because I need to finish with them I always have to stop when this before my grand demo. Ma’am Gonzales someone is standing like “O, bakit may need these grades. nakatayo na naman?” “Ang ingay class” “Sige, Isa pang cellphone mo dyan” like that hehe  That’s why I thought they would hate me. But, honestly I call their attention because they are really noisy and doing something but I really love them and I appreciate when they are following my instructions. Day 4: Brain Breaks Thursday • They really enjoyed my brain breaks, February 21, 2019 Thursday Sometimes when I’m walking at the corridor they will tell me “Ma’am mamaya brain breaks natin Before I start they keep on asking “Ma’am ano ah” And sometimes when they keep asking for brain breaks natin” That’s why every day I more! But, I told them “Later if we have extra keep on thinking a new and enjoyable brain time, For now listen and participate” Few more break that should cater the 40 students and weeks and I’m really getting close to my students should be short and enjoyable.   It’s true! I will miss my students when I leave Araullo, They have a big part on my experiences I have an assignment today, And feel so as a teacher. grateful because I can see their efforts in their assignment. Really unexpected tho! I will put  Nothing new, some of the students are late in all of these in my documentation  passing their requirements, that’s why I gave deductions on those who will pass it late. But, their homework’s was really good and creative! So unexpected! 
