Practice Teaching Form 6 Journal of Experiences Week 4
Date: January 28 - February 1, 2019
Significant Experience(s) Day 1: Productive Monday January 28, 2019 Monday
Learning(s)/Insight(s) Gained
What I realized today is that, As a teacher it’s important to practice what you preach. Because, students will not follow what you say to them, When you, yourself will also not doing it. For example, I saw a teacher in the flag ceremony scolded some students because they are noisy, then after 5 minutes the students saw that teacher talking with other faculty while someone is talking in front. Action speaks louder than words.
As a teacher I need to give considerations with their grades, But they need to pass their requirements. The deadliest deadline is on Friday. I will give the updated grades on my CT on Monday.
Attended flag ceremony today, Then I have 5 classes today but 3 of them are excused because of the practice for foundation day. I signed their excuse letter, Then for the remaining 2 classes, Since it’s my first time to meet them I started by giving a 5 facts about me, Most importantly the classroom rules. To be productive, our CT gave us a section for the final demo, She suggested 9-Amorsolo and she also gave Module 16 as my topic because my demo is supposedly March 7 or 8. We also discussed the lesson plan and other requirements. Day 2: Encoding of Grades January 29, 2019 Tuesday
Same problem here, Students are having a hard time to pass their requirements on time. Almost half of the class in the lower section didn’t pass their notebooks that are why they don’t have grades yet. I encoded 3 out of 12 sections, because 3 sections are the ones who completed their requirements. Also, I have a difficult situation today. Some of my grade 9 students come to us with their parents to tell that their child will not go to school anymore, because they are suspended.
Also, I am shocked with what happened to some of my Grade 9 students. Teens tend to fight at social media because they are not using their social media right. That’s why some of my students add me on facebook but I just tend to ignore it for now. Because, somehow my social media are my private account.

I am shocked because they have scars in their faces, because one of them has a blade. The worst is, some students have a video about what happened to them, and they say it’s going viral on the school. I can’t believe that Grade 9 can fight like that. Day 3: No classes Wednesday January 30, 2019 Wednesday
Attended again the flag ceremony, Tomorrow is the birthday of Manuel Araullo that’s why all grade 9 are excused for their general practice. While us, we follow up their lacking requirements, we also plan the activities for next week. And also, did some requirements. I also did my powerpoints today for next week! Day 4: Happy Manuel Araullo Day! January 31, 2019 Thursday
• As a teacher we need also to participate on school activities because I heard some of the teacher’s just stay at the faculty room while all the students are downstairs. I feel happy when I saw my students dancing even though I only know them by their faces. I’m having a hard time memorizing their names because I have 12 sections I just remember them by their section.
No classes today because we’re going to celebrate the birthday of Manuel Araullo. The first part of the program is we attended the mass, then afterwards some head and also the principal gave their speech. Then, after that we watched the performances of Grade 7 to Grade 12 field demo. We really had fun watching them dancing although there are so many students, It’s so crowded. After that, we just have some class picture of Team Manila together with our CT’s! Let’s call it a day, Happy Thursday! Day 5: Back to REALITY February 1, 2019 Friday Our CT informed us that we don’t have class for the first two subjects because they have the awarding ceremony. So, basically I have 3 classes more. Were still in Module 13 for
I tried to be productive while the students are practicing for their field demo. My goal is no longer to get more done, but rather to have less to do. “Productivity is being able to do things that you were never able to do before.” And I’m happy to finish some of my things I need to do.
Lastly, I will just quote here what there principal said today “Always deliver more than expected” For me, It is really meaningful. There are so many expectations, But always try your best to do more than they expect on you. The most significant behavior goal for my students is to have mutual respect for each other and for the teacher. And, I really admire students who always come to class and have a desire to learn. Because, attendance here in Araullo is very poor, They always tend to cut their class.

First class is Picasso, it’s a lower Better late than never, But never late is section and guess what I only have 7 students BETTER! So happy I have no late for this week in the class, but I still did my thing. We had the and also on the past week. 6:30AM LET’S activity and the abstraction, Next class, GO!! Rembrant. Luckily, they are 10 then 5 are late! It’s my first time to meet Rembrant, It is also a lower section, but I think I have a nice class with them. Lastly, Shakespeare! ONLY 3 attended the class, But I still teach even though they are only 3. Also, I record all the attendance today. My CT is not around today, She had her early off because she have errands to do.
