Design Concepts Brought to Life To permit the addition of AT&T Wireless’ panel antennas, the City of La Mirada wanted to see this dreary corner, dominated by an existing Cingular Wireless monopole, to be turned into something less unsightly. Planning staff requested that a decorative wall and landscaping be proposed, which was to match a similar treatment at the La Mirada Veterans Park (photo at bottom right).

The City of La Mirada approved the concept in October 2002 and the site was built in March 2003.

Architectural Visualization The challenge was to place the proposed Sprint PCS panel antennas inside the cupola of this outlet mall store. The project architect and GDP collaborated on this design, involving the replacement of the existing false cupola windows with enlarged counterparts made out of RF transparent stealth material. The “enlarged window” solution reduced construction costs considerably by allowing the use of only one type of custom fabricated stealth material (the window panels), as opposed to three (window panels, window frame and cupola wall), that would otherwise have been necessary to accommodate the 5-ft. high Sprint PCS panel antennas.

Approved by the City of Camarillo Planning Department, February 2001.

A New Lease on an Old Monopole This multi-carrier monopole located at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall contained whip antennas and old mounting platforms that were no longer being used. In order to permit the proposed panel antennas, planning staff requested that the existing monopole be renovated. The mounting platforms were removed and the existing whip antennas were remounted on slim mounting arms.

A New Lease on an Old Monopole, Part 2 The City of Ontario wanted this cellular antenna monopole to be made less conspicuous in order to permit the addition of AT&T Wireless panel antennas. They requested that a radome cover the existing antenna array and the city’s logo to be placed on the face of the radome.

Photo Enhancement and Radical Alteration The sky in this photograph (provided by client) was expanded to allow clearance for the monopalm. The time stamp was removed, as well as the brown station wagon and the Winnebago, in order to make room for the equipment shelter and the monopalm. A new fence, equipment shelter and monopalm were added. Proposed monopalm

Texaco to Shell Conversion These photo-simulations were created for AuxanoLane / SHELL as part of a nation-wide redevelopment project involving the conversion of Texaco gasoline stations into Shell stations. Our task was to visualize the conversion process in its entirety. These simulations show the alterations to be performed, including prime sign replacement, canopy re-facing, gas pump replacement, curb and bollard re-painting, store re-facing and car wash re-facing / repainting.
