Disaster Management in Dealing with Earthquake and Tsunami’s Threads in Padang City Government year of 2011. Yulia Rahmadona Putri University of Indonesia [email protected]/081267817439 Padang city is situated geographically among the encounter of continent plates, and nearby to mentawai’s plate and above the surface of Semangko’s plate, which induced this city become more susceptible to earthquake and tsunami. Last earthquake’s event in 2009 has caused several casualties of 383 people, 431 injured and 771 has suffered a light injured along with material total lost of 4.815.477.418.250 (four trillion and eight hundred fifteen billion and four hundred seventy seven million and four hundred eighteen thousand and two hundred fifty rupiahs). This research is conducted by means of a descriptive research method and qualitative study design. Limited funds, facility and manpower and lack of policy of socialization has given an affect to method and objective prepareness in managing the disaster. It gives an influence to each function of management which covered a planning process, organizing, movement and controlling, whereby cause an inoptimize disaster management enforcement in dealing with City of Padang’s earthquake and tsunami threads in 2011. Therefore, the disaster management should be increased, so as management is functioned well and Disaster management in dealing with City of Padang’s earthquake and tsunami has able to be optimum .
