DC Hannahs’ News Bytes Letter from the President Winter is certainly here! We’ve already had our first snow, and the meteorologist is predicting another storm next week! I wish I could say I’m a cold-weather fan, but it is lovely to see the snow cover the ground every year.

Elections were a success! I am so pleased our new group of officers and coordinators. We have a fabulous group of women that will do an amazing job running our chapter this coming year. Thank you again to Elizabeth Haile and our Nominating Committee for orchestrating Elections and pulling everything together.

we’re having another spa evening on Tuesday, February 24 at PR at Partners salon. You can choose from a selection of services, relax in the spa lounge with your sisters and see the salon’s

Spring 09 Fashion Forecast presentation. What a fun evening! And, mark you calendars for Founders Day on March 21. Once again, we will celebrate Founders Day with the women of Beta Epsilon. I hope you can join us for both events! Finally, I am so pleased to say that we are 95 members strong! Thank you so much to those that have paid your dues. Founders Day Come and join the WDC Alumnae Chapter and collegians from American University to celebrate one of the most honored of DG's ritual traditions - Founders Day! This is an opportunity to honor the three founders and rededicate ourselves to the ideas of the Fraternity. Founders Day will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Clyde's of Gallery Place, which is located at 707 7th Street NW and the Gallery Place/ Chinatown Metro Station. The cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. You can pay via PayPal on

Sponsor a Senior We will once again welcome the graduating seniors from American University into alumnae life at our joint Founder's Day event. Your contribution will purchase an official senior installation pin from Executive Offices for a graduating senior attending Founders Day. Sponsoring alumnae will participate in the senior

installation and will be paired with a senior for the pinning ceremony. A special table will be reserved for sponsoring alumnae, positioned to facilitate discussion with seniors as they embark upon their journey into the alumnae world. The cost to sponsor a senior is $5. Member of the Month: Elizabeth Haile Elizabeth Haile is our February Member of the Month! Elizabeth has been a member of the WDC alumnae chapter since 2001 when she joined the

Book Club Special Interest Group. Elizabeth has held numerous positions in our chapter, including VP Foundation, Director of Columnae for Beta Epsilon and currently Director of Rituals. Elizabeth did an outstanding job as the Nomi-

nating Committee Chair this year. She is certainly a dedicated member. She’s a delight to be around, and that is one of the many reasons she is our February Member of the Month!

Wear Your Badge Day

Show your DG pride by wearing your badge on Monday, March 2!

Join the WDC chapter in participating in Wear Your Badge (or any DG paraphernalia) Day!! On Monday, March 2, show your DG pride by wearing your badge or any other item with Delta Gamma insignia. Take note of the name and email address of any other DGs you meet that day. Send the list of names to [email protected]. The member meeting the most DGs that day will be recognized at Founders Day and

in a future e-newsletter. The 26 member organizations of the National Panhellenic

Day March 2, 2009, an annual event during which sorority women everywhere honor their Greek affiliations by wearing their badge or letters. This year NPC will be joined by the women of NAPA, NALFO, NMGC and NPHC as all celebrate their sorority experience. This year's theme is "Keep Your Fraternal Experience Close to Your Heart."

Foundation Update February is Low Vision Awareness Month. Help support Delta Gamma Foundation this month by donating old eye glasses to be recycled for children and adults who can not afford

glasses. Only one in three pairs of donated glasses can be used because of scratched lenses , so your donation is important. Bring your donation to either our February or March WDC Delta
