Cork has a variety of wines by the glass and inexpensive small plates to nibble on and share. Plus, Cork's staff has a great reputation for being oh-so knowledgeable about wine, so we might learn a thing or two. For more information, please contact Meredith at

A monthly update on various opportunities with various levels of time commitment is being developed. Many of these opportunities will be Service for Sight based, but some will be outside that area. [email protected]. The Prevention of Blindness Society of the Metropolitan Washington (POB) is hosting an
American Girl Fashion Show on November 15 and 16 to raise funds and awareness for its sightsaving programs. This project requires many volunteers to be successful. We are writing to your organization to see if you and your members would be able to support POB by volunteering service hours. There will be four shows over two days with 50 models per show between the ages of 6-10 years. The fashion shows will be at the Inn at Brookeville in Brookeville, MD. Some volunteer positions include model assistants, greeters and hostesses. Founded in 1936, the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington, the largest local prevention of blindness agency in the United States, is dedicated to the improvement and preservation of sight by providing services, education, advocacy and innovation. POB screens more than 7,500 children annually for vision loss and strabismus and 5,000 adults for glaucoma, and provides nearly 4,500 new eyeglasses to low-income and homeless persons at its clinic. POB also sponsors the Aging Eye Network, Macular Degeneration Network and Stargardt’s Network. Please visit www.youreyes.org for a more detailed description of our services. Dues - It’s That Time Again! As mentioned in last month’s newsletter, DG increased alumnae dues from $19 to $20.50 to help fund the numerous items it provides such as ANCHORA magazine, deltagamma.org, Convention, recruitment, expansion, support of regional teams, and much more. In addition, this month every alumnae will receive an invoice from Delta Gamma Fraternity allowing them to pay their dues directly to EO. However, we would like to make this process as convenient as possible for our members, so you are still able to pay both your Delta Gamma Fraternity dues and your alumni chapter dues at the same time. WDC will then take responsibility for sending your $20.50 to EO. So, if you receive your invoice from EO but have already paid your dues to our chapter for this fiscal year, please disregard the invoice from EO. Thank you for contributions. Your dues are critical to the success of our chapter.
We look forward to seeing you at our Kick-Off in September!
