Subj: Document Request Regarding 9/11 Teleconferences On the moraine of S epteniber 11,2001, representatives from a number of federal agencies participated in interagency teleconferences that served as olearingaouses of information and decisionmaking regarding the hijacking events that were unfolding. The Commission is seeking tapes, transcripts, and/or documents recording or describing the content of these conferences. Accordingly, the Commission hereby requests thattiie following agencies provide the Commission, no later than September 17, 2003, with an inventory of tapes, transcripts, or documents recording or describing teleconferences it initiated or participated in on the morning of September 11,2001: the Executive Office of the President, the Office of the Vice President, the Department of State, the Department of Treasuiy, the Deoartment of Defense, the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Homeland Security (United States Secret Service), and the Central Intelligence Agency. For purposes of this request, the term "morning" is defined as 08:30 to 12:00 EDT on September 11,2001; the term "teleconference" refers to audio or video communications that involved representatives of more than two government agencies.
