During our recent club trip to Egypt we had the opportunity to visit the Brother Islands by live aboard, which is approximately an eight hour boat ride from Hurghada. Whilst there we did seven dives, during which we had the pleasure of seeing Oceanic White Tips, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Grey Reef Sharks, Silky Sharks, and Hammer Head Sharks in addition to all the other usual marine life. We are now planning to do a five day live aboard to Egypt and Red Sea next year, and we expecting that demand, will high as lots of our members have already expressed an interest in taking part

November Club Meeting 27th October 2008

Chaired by John Smallwood Many thanks for all the people that managed to attend this month’s club meeting it was a good turn out and very nice to see some new faces. “We have now got 50 current active dive club members!”

Due To Christmas the Next Club meeting Will Be On Thursday 29th January 2009 Oceanic White Tip shark during our dives around the brother islands.

Dive Club Newsletter RNLI Fund Raising Event Update The RNLI fund raising event that we hosted in September has so far raised in excess of £750.00 which I think is absolutely fantastic so thank you very much all those who tuck part. Anyone who has not yet contributed it is not too late because we are still taking donations.

Master Scuba Divers

Big congratulations to both Phillip Williams and Terry Lowe on becoming MASTER SCUBA DIVERS (The Highest PADI Recreational Diver Qualification)

Swimming Pool Sessions At Chapeltown Swimming Pool As Dive Club members, you can use the pool for only £5 per person, during our pool sessions, using your own kit, or just £15 per person including rental of full kit. So whether you just want to refresh your skills, have a piece of new kit to try out or just having that burning desire to get wet. Call the dive centre to book your place.

PADI Speciality Of The Month Dream Divers Specialty course offer for December is PADI Enriched Air Diver

PADI Enriched Air Diver This course offers you the opportunity to extend your bottom time and help to reduce nitrogen loading. On the course you will:  Learn dive planning, organisation, procedures, techniques and hazards.  Experience two open water dives with different Nitrox mixes.  Gain experience of diving on Nitrox under the direct supervision of a professional PADI Instructor.  Learn how to analyse the contents of your Nitrox mix. The price for this course is £175.00 (£150.00 for Club Members) Per Person and includes all PADI materials, 2 dives and includes the PADI Specialty Certification Card and any equipment hire if required on the course. Club Fees Dream Divers Club fees are now due for 2009 and are still only £12.00 per year. Club fees will be used to pay towards deposits for club trips and to may be purchase Insurance later in the year for members on club trips

Club Members Benefits Include discounted air fills and a discount on stock items purchased from the shop, as well as the usual discounted monthly PADI Specialty Courses.
