27th September 2008 6pm at the Dive Shop As you all know Septembers dive club meeting will be a bit different as we organized a BBQ and a fund raising event for the RNLI, which we held at the Dive Shop. We are pleased to announce that we have so far raised in excess of £750 which I think is absolutely fantastic so thank you very much all those who took part, and anyone who has not yet contributed it is not too late because we are still taking donations. Raising Funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), is absolutely essential as it is a registered charity that provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland. But this vital service receives no government funding. In order to keep the lifeboat service running the RNLI have to find running costs of about £339,000 a day and on average the volunteer lifeboat crews rescue 21 people a day from the waters surrounding Britain’s coasts.
