Conserve Our Water The honorable committee of this event, the honorable Mr. Jatmiko and all beloved friends. I thank to Allah Swt, the Almighty God, for His blessings to me,Thanks for the time and chance given to me, I would like to deliver my speech about environment and the title is Conserve Our Water. Many kinds of pollution happened on our earth like air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution and many more. I got a good slogan when I attended seminar LABIATE UI 2009 “A drop of water gives us life so conserve our water”. If we think deepen the sense we will find how important the water is. We can’t imagine if there’s no water in our life, it won’t be a life. The quality of water becomes bad now days. It could be seen by some parameters which use to check the quality. DO (Dissolved Oxygen) BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) The solid material that soluble.

All of those parameters have the same function but they detect the quality of water with different ways. The parameters detected whether the water had polluted or not yet. The polluted water is not good for our health because it may contains toxic and gives us some effect. These are some effect that caused by the industrial cesspool. It will be a silting up of river; it will poison the food chain; if the pollutant is mining cesspool it will endanger our health because it contains the metal compound like mercury. If the mercury enters our body it will cause pink disease, allergic, and even cancer and etc. It’s impossible if we want to delete that entire cesspool from our life in order to prevent the water pollution. What I’m more concerned is how to conserve it is more important. These are some ways to conserve our water. First, the easiest thing to do is don’t waste the garbage in to the river; reduce the use of detergent; separate the organic garbage and the inorganic one. Then the organic garbage could be processed as a material to make compos and the inorganic one can be recycled. Hence, we must take care to the cleanliness of our environment because it’s the effective method to conserve the water. Start from now, start from the little thing and start from ourselves.
