Activity 1 CIRCUIT NO 1 Heart Rate Circuit Indoor Open space, 9 cones, 9 hoops, 9 jump ropes and 9 circuit cards. Arrange cones to form a large circle. Place a circuit card on a cone in sequence jog, spot jump, skip, (see Circuit Cards). b. For every cone marked ‘Spot Jump’, place 3 hoops in a line next to it and inside the circle. c. For every cone marked ‘Skip’, place 3 jump ropes next to it. d. Divide the class into 9 groups. e. Each group stand at a cone. f. Upon whistle, each group performs the activity shown on the circuit card. g. For ‘Spot Jump’, students jump in and out of hoops. h. For ‘Skip’, students jump rope on the spot. i. For ‘Jog’, students run around the cones. j. After 1 minute, whistle to end activity. Groups advance to the next station in a clockwise direction. Whistle to begin. k. Repeat the sequence until groups return to the starting position. a.
Variations : a. Use hoops as jump ropes (for those having trouble with ropes). b. Set 2 smaller circuits and have teams compete against each other.
