Riley’s Rundown

Paul’s Ponderings Almost everyone agrees that the Bible contains great advice about life, from improving your marriage to getting along with your boss at work. But does the Bible really say much about money? Does it really give us advice that we can apply to our own life in today's world? Absolutely! We believe the Bible is as relevant and helpful today as when it was written, and God has a lot to say about money. Did you know money is mentioned in the Bible over 800 times? God must be pretty serious about this subject to talk about it that much. Debt is all around us. More than 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Over 35% of Christian marriages end in divorce, and money problems are the number one cause. Financial Peace University has a long history of helping families successfully confront these problems head on. The program is a biblically-based and will teach you to manage God's money and resources in a godly way. It empowers you to make the right financial decisions to achieve your financial goals, teaching you to eliminate debt, build wealth, and give like never before. On average, families reduce their debt by $5,300 and save $2,700 in just 91 days. Monday, March 9th at 6:30 we will begin Financial Peace University at WLCC. Over 23 individuals have already signed up to be part of this incredible event and we need as much church participation as possible! To sign up, simply call the church office and talk with Kim or call Paul at 606-362-6400. How can you help us with this endeavor? 1) PRAY! Pray that the Lord would use this event to change people’s lives and bring them closer to Him or to Him for the very first time. 2) ATTEND! A CROWD DRAWS A CROWD. Our witness as a church family is on the line. Attend as much as possible to fill the pews and witness to community individuals who will be stepping through our doors for the first time. 3) GREET & HELP! We need help with greeters, ushers and childcare. It looks as though the event is going to be bigger than anticipated, so we will need help in these three key areas. Let’s pray that as we use this event to REACH BEYOND OUR WALLS that GOD WILL BE HONORED AND BLESSED!

SpringForward!

Hey guys, I just wanted to talk a little bit about our upcoming trip to Cincinnati. First let me say that it is going to be very cheap. I am not exactly sure on a price yet we are trying to work that out. We thought at first that you were just going to have to pay for all of your meals on your own. Now we are looking into feeding the whole group because it will be cheaper for you that way. Or I should say cheaper for your parents! The trip is still March 20-22. We are going to be doing all of our work for the trip on Saturday. I think instead of working with food like we had planned, we are going to be working at a small church downtown, not to far from where I went to college. This way we can put a whole day into helping others, instead of just a couple of hours. Lastly, remember to bring some extra money for the extra curricular activities we have planned. I am not going to tell you what they are, but I will say that it is going to be a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to this trip and it is a great way for you to serve, I really hope that you go with us and help some hurting people in Cincinnati. I have been trying to plan a lot of things for the upcoming months, for little kids and big kids alike. The next newsletter should be full of activities. I’ll be sure to let you know. Don’t forget we are still having Uprising at 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning in the attic.

Remember to SPRING FORWARD one hour on March 8th. If you don’t… You won’t be the early bird that gets the worm!

Singers Needed

Singspiration & Linger-Longer

Although we have the World-Famous Men’s Sunday School Chorus singing on a regular basis, we are still in need of song specials! Soloists, duets, you name it! Just let us know in the church office.

March 15th at 6PM. Join us for an evening of singing and fun. Afterwards we will all meet downstairs for a “Linger-Longer” with finger foods, salads and desserts. Bring a dish and a hymn or chorus that you like to sing!

See ya later!

Van Drivers We’re in need of van drivers for Sunday and Wednesdays. Please contact Paul or the church office.
