Our niche in the market – specialty medical – seems to be growing annually.” Marinan attributes this to the aging population, coupled with continued growth in the Southwest, both of which are driving demand for dialysis treatments. Although Marathon Resources considers itself a small- to medium-sized

company, it is confident enough to compete with large-sized firms. “Its success is due to its intimate approach,” Marinan notes. “It is because we can offer personalized service and monitor quality daily,” he says. “We have eliminated a lot of layers of people involved in the projects.” This personal service sets the company apart. “When one of our clients call our office, they get a response within hours, and not days, regarding any concerns that they may have,” Marinan explains. “We have a very hands-on approach that lets our clients know we are looking out for their best interests.” “Keeping a watchful eye is key to weathering challenges,” Marinan notes. “Meeting deadlines is dealt with by monitoring subcontractor status on a daily basis and revising schedules as

needed,” he states. “There hasn’t been a case where we did not complete a project on time.” Managed Growth Although Marathon Resources keeps a low profile, clients are attracted to the company’s reputation. “Our reputation comes from our continued hard work,” Marinan stresses. “We are well in tune with the needs of all of our clients. We try to be proactive rather than reactive. We always go through a project’s plan prior to construction to determine any problem areas that could arise. “We then work together with the architect and owner to alleviate these problems and discrepancies when they will be easiest to rectify – in the very beginning of the job.” x
