SPELLATHON
Not long to go and we will know how successful our Spellathon has been. The children have only a few more days to rally sponsors before their “test”. The last estimate tells me that Grade 3W is in the winning position.
CELL PHONES
These are once again creeping in. Please weigh up the “convenience” factor with every other aspect of these expensive electronic gadgets. They disturb the class. They are used to send inappropriate and hurtful messages to each other. Downloading of harmful and disgusting videos is the new phase, they are expensive and when “stolen” or lost become the school’s problem.
JUDO
Congratulations to Robyn Phillips who took gold medal in the team Event at the recent South African Judo Championships. She also took a silver medal at the National Ranking Judo Tournament held Cape Town on the 5th of August.
PROVINCIAL HOCKEY
Congratulations to our new Provincial Hockey Players, C. du Preez, K. Caboz and C. de Kock. Well done.
HOCKEY TORNAMENT
On the 5th of August Bryandale Hosted "the Best of the Best" Hockey Tournament where Montrose, Crawford Fourways, Bryneven, Craighall and ourselves played in a round robin each playing four matches. I am proud to announce that Bryandale did us proud and won both girls and boys against Bryneven in the Finals. What a tournament it was!
CRICKET
CELL PHONES WILL BE CONFISCATED IF BROUGHT TO SCHOOL.
OUR LITTER PROBLEM
The ground staff try so hard to prepare our fields for sporting events, clean up and repair things that are broken at our school. Theirs is a really thankless job made so difficult by those who are too lazy to put litter into the bins. Their time is therefore wasted by picking up after these lazy “litter bugs”.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Bryandalians learn that conservation of the environment is the duty of every citizen, all pupils participate in the recycling programme and share in the creation and maintenance of beautiful and litter free grounds”. It is the responsibility of every Bryandalian to pick up the litter that pollutes our school environment.
