WELCOME BACK

Welcome back for the second term of 2006. We trust that you have all had a good rest. May the two families who are new to the school have a long and happy association with us.

GOVERNING BODY ELECTIONS

All public schools will hold Governing Body elections in May. One major change in the process is the insistence of a 15% quorum for the nomination meeting. This meeting will be rescheduled until there is a 15% quorum. This translates to 340 parents (mothers and fathers each have their own vote). In order to ensure we have only one meeting, please complete the attached slip. Should we be short of the number this way, we will telephone, e-mail and SMS parents until we have the required number agreeing to attend the meeting. Please bear with us, so that we are able to ensure that we do not have to re-convene this very important election. THE FORMAT FOR THE EVENING: The Annual General Meeting will take place after the nomination meeting. Should only six members be nominated, they will automatically be elected. If there are more than six nominations, voting will take place immediately after the AGM. This meeting will take place at 19h00 in the school hall on Wednesday 24 May 2006. Fourways High School Election Committee will oversee our election and we will return the favour.
