ELECTION OF PARENT MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY
ADDITIONAL CONCERT PERFORMANCE
Dear Parents
Thank you for your understanding and patience! We had 240 parents, grannies, grandpas and nannies at our dress rehearsal. What a lovely surprise! In order to fulfil our commitment to the scaffolding and lighting companies, we are unable to run any more nights. We have taken a decision, however, to do another morning performance on… Friday 12 May at 09h30. We will then allow parents to take their children home straight after the show. Those who are unable to fetch their children will be cared for at school until 13h00. When looking at doing another performance, we have had to take into account the preparation time for the children, the waiting time before their item and then the more difficult waiting time after their item. If we were able to have all class teachers with their classes, this would be easier. There is so much more to a production than this – so many other things to take care of. The return to the normal curriculum day is essential. It is important to keep these in mind. Our sincere thanks to the parents who have helped us with this production. Without them we would not have been able to do it. I trust that our efforts to accommodate you, your children and our teachers is understood. The beauty of a show like this, is to watch the developmental stages from Grade One to Grade Seven. It is such a pity when some parents leave after their child’s item.
