Who was involved in the event of the transfiguration? a. Moses- represented the law b. Elijah- represented the prophets c. Jesus- face shown as bright as the sun d. God said to hear Jesus, showing that Jesus had greater authority 2. What were they talking about? a. Luke tells us that they were talking about Jesus’ death 3. Some not taste death before see Son of Man coming? a. Elijah has not died yet i. He was taken up by a chariot of fire straight to God ii. He will die in the last days, when Jesus will return to establish his kingdom 4. Elijah must come first according to old Bible prophecy a. Two comings of Jesus Christ i. Coming in humiliation 1. John the Baptist represents Elijah ii. Coming in glory 1. Elijah will turn hearts of people to God and then die #200- Jesus and the Children (Mark 10:13-16) 5. Jesus loves everybody, and especially the little children a. They are VERY IMPORTANT to Jesus b. Remember the millstone! (Matthew 18:6) 6. Children should be directed to the Savior a. As soon as they are able to understand his words 7. We must receive the kingdom of God as little children a. Does NOT mean we have to be children in order to believe in Jesus b. Adults can receive Jesus also c. Means that we must be like little children and submit to Jesus with humility, just as a child should submit to his parents i. Means being humble
