Neighbor a. It means a person who lives next to another person b. It also means a fellow human 2. The Greatest Commandments (Matthew 22:37-40) a. The first greatest commandment is to love God b. The second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself 3. Jesus a. He is God the Son b. He loves and cares for us very much c. But sin separates us from Him 4. Sin a. It means disobeying God’s will on purpose b. (Romans 3:23) For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God c. (Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 5. The gift of God a. (John 3:16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. b. (Romans 5:8) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 6. Jesus wants to be your friend a. He loves you just the way you are, but… b. Sin separates us from Jesus c. Only if we believe and trust in Jesus, He will forgive our sins d. Then we can be friends with Jesus 
