Face of my Father Children’s Home ROSTRO DEL PADRE A.C. Quetzal # 7 San Marcos Jalisco 4 654 0 Mexico Tel. 011 52 (386 )7 57 -0 551

Dear Friend, We are pleased to send you the first official newsletter of Face of My Father Children’s Home. We are within a few months of officially opening our doors and we want you to be well informed about all that is happening as we get closer. In this first letter we would like to give you an overview of the ministry of Face of My Father. All About Us Face of my Father Children’s Home is situated in San Marcos, a small Mexican town in the state of Jalisco. It is a Christian ministry that was born out of the Iglesia Peniel, an evangelical church affiliated with the Mexican national Christian and Missionary Alliance. Missionary Pastor William Cooke and his wife Katie had the vision in 1998 when they moved to San Marcos from Alaska to open a Children’s Home that would allow children who have been abandoned or orphaned to grow up in a Christian family setting in a small town where many of the problems of city life do not exist. The Home has been under construction since April of 2007 and is scheduled to open in January of 2009. Various members of the church congregation, in accord with Mexican law, have formed a civil association under the name “Rostro del Padre”. This shorter version and the English version “Face of my Father” is a reference to Matthew 18:10, “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.” In April of 2008 Tod and Kristi Ramey arrived in San Marcos with their 3 girls. For various years they had felt God’s call on their lives to enter the mission field and in 2007 He confirmed His will for them to move to Mexico. Their ministry within the Home will be as house parents, raising and nurturing the precious children that will be put in their care. William and Katie will hold an administrative role, as well as hands-on help with the children. The children we will receive will be under 5 years old when they enter and will stay in the home until they are adults and ready to move on. The Home will offer these children a new life in Christ Jesus and a home where they can receive love and protection. Each child will be given good food, clothing, and a formation and education that will strengthen their personal identity and purpose in life with the goal of producing responsible, upstanding citizens. Change a Child’s Life During 2007 it was reported by authorities that in Mexico some 114 babies were found after being left on door steps or tossed into garbage bins. Many babies and children are abandoned in hospitals as a result of parent’s financial strain or inability to care for them. Others are orphaned with no other family members to take care of them. We will have the privilege of raising these children but we need partners to pray for us, support us financially, and share our vision with others. Will you consider being a partner with us in changing the lives of Mexican children? Here’s how you can:
