“Right before we accomplish that, let me know first if you still remember our former lecture” d) Reviewing of Past Lessons “So let us now review our previous lesson, What was our topic all about yesterday?” “Very good, as we have learned yesterday, A preposition is a word such as after, in, to, on, and with. Prepositions are usually use in front of nouns or pronouns and they show the relationship between the noun or pronoun and other words in a sentence. Understand?”

conjunction and to classify different conjunctions in text.”

“It was about Preposition ma’am”

“Yes ma’am!”

B. Developmental Activities a) Motivational Activity “Students, I have arrange a very fun game for you guys”

“YEY! What is it ma’am?”

“It’s called: (flashes the PPT at the whiteboard) SHOUT IT OUT LOUD!”

“Were going to shout ma’am?”

“Nope, not necessarily although at some point it is unavoidable. But do not shout too loudly, We might disturb other classes OK?”

“Yes ma’am Got it!”

“Then here’s the mechanics, I need 4 volunteers from each side. It will be Group 1 vs Group 2. (play rock, paper, and scissors to decide the first players)” Rules: >> Each members will wear headphones/earphones for the game. >> Students must not hear any sound from the class. >> Members of the game must form a line. >> The first person in the line must read the word on the board for 5 seconds while his/her other classmates are facing backwards.

“You’re welcome; now let’s proceed with our proper lecture for today.” b) Analysis “What do you think is the use of those words earlier in our game?”

“It is to connect words or sentences.”

“Very well said. Just like how we use staplers, glue, or paste to attach things together, We use Conjunctions to bond words, sentences, paragraphs and even clauses.” “What are the two types of clauses?”

“The dependent and independent ma’am”

“Yes that right, now let’s learn about the different types of conjunction and its uses” c) Abstraction “Does anyone likes to read?”

(students raises hands)

(reads)

“The first one is coordinating conjunction; you are all familiar with FANBOYS right?”

“Yes! Ma’am”

“This one is the simplest connector among the three because we can use it in any independent sentences or clauses” “Could you please explain further ma’am?”

“Basically, if the sentences or clauses have the complete thought, you just have to put a coma however if one of them are independent we need to use conjunction rather than a coma or semicolon. Next conjunction…”

“In other words, the clauses can be in any order in a sentence as long as the Subordinating conjunction comes before the dependent clause. You got it? ”

“Certainly ma’am”

“More examples…”

“And for the last conjunction…”

“In much simpler words, this conjunction is a package. You cannot use one without the other, For example…”

“What are the differences between the three conjunctions ma’am?”

“The differences are: Coordinating is used to link independent clauses while subordinating is used to link dependent and independent clauses. And correlative conjunction are used in pairs."

d) Application (Oral) “Each of you will have 10 minutes to write about your bravest moment and you must use 5 and more conjunctions. It will be 2 points each conjunction, so below 5 conjunctions will get 2 points deduction. You will recite it in front after you are done. Any other concerns?” IV.
