Task Procedures: 1. Teacher recalls previous lessons – present continuous tense. 2. Teacher writes down the sentences that were used in the past lesson. - I am standing up. - You are sitting down. - I am writing on the board. - He is walking. - She is drinking water. - They are talking. 3. Pupils read the sentences with guidance. 4. Pupils then get into groups (4-5 in a group). 5. Teacher gives each group an envelope with sentence strips (appendix 6.6.2 ) 6. Teacher demonstrates the game – -take out all the strips. -pile them according to the colour. -rearrange the strips into meaningful sentence. -the group that finishes first wins the game. 7. Pupils play the game. Teacher monitors the progress. 8. Pupils then copy down the sentences in their notebooks. Classroom Management - Pupils are divided into groups. - The group that finishes first must put up their hands and remain silent till the teacher checks their answers. - The group that makes a lot of unnecessary noise will be given a minute penalty. Managing Mistakes and Errors - Peer to peer correction - Teacher helps pupils while monitoring the activity.
