If sale of 800 was 48000, what was total sale of cars? • Sale of 800 is 60% of maruti sale – thus sale of Maruti is 100/60 *48000 =80000. • Sale of Maruti is 40% of total cars. Thus total sale is 100/40 * 80000 • = 200000 Ans.

What is the difference in sale of Zen and HM (use data from previous question)?
• Total sale is 200000. Sale of Zen is 20% of maruti sale – thus 20% of 80000 = 16000. sale of HM is 15% of 200000 = 15000. The difference is only 1000 ans.

If sale of 800 increases by 25% (sale of other cars remain constant) what is the increase of maruti’s market share?
• Increase of sale of 800 = from 48000 to 60000. Now the share of Maruti is 92000/212000 *100 = 43.4%. The market share has increased by 3.4 points or in % it has increased by 8.5% from its previous position. www.afterschoool.tk

If the difference in C’s production in 2003 and A’s production in 2001 is 1320 MT, what is the total production in 2000. Production increases 10% p.a. • Let us assume total production in 2000 to be 100, it will be 110, 121, 133 & 146.3 in next years. • A’s production in 2001 will be 22 & C’s production in 2003 is 39.9. If the difference is 17.9, production of 2000 is 100,using equation ,we get the answer: • 100/17.9 *1320 = 7375 MT approx
www.afterschoool.tk
Based on previous question, what is the production of B in 2002? • Total production of 2002 is : • 7375*1.1*1.1 = 8923 • 30% of 8923 = 2677 MT
