Public forums on proposal for ACT Government to buy Calvary Hospital
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is seeking feedback from nearby residents and traders on the proposal to release for sale Block 5 Section 790 Were Street for the purposes of an aged care facility.
The ACT Government has started public consultation on a proposed change to the ownership and governance of Calvary Public Hospital and Clare Holland House.
LDA is dedicated to achieving new standards of innovation, excellence and value in urban design and sustainable development. As an agency that develops and sells land on behalf of the ACT Government, our aim is to build better communities for the benefit of the people of Canberra. Temporary Road Closures
The Government and Little Company of Mary Health Care have reached in-principle agreement on the proposed changes and the Government now wishes to consult with the Canberra community about the best way to proceed. The consultation will run from 1 October to 12 November.

The vaccine will be initially offered to those most exposed and most at risk of poor outcomes. Flexibility exists, however, for vaccination to be given opportunistically to concerned individuals or family members of vulnerable people. People in priority groups who are unable to see a GP should ring the Community Health Intake line on 6207 9977 to make an appointment at a clinic. Panvax® H1N1 is a one dose vaccine for people aged 10 and over. It may take up to two weeks for individuals to develop immunity to H1N1 influenza ’09. Further information regarding vaccination for those aged 9 years and under will be available following the conclusion of clinical trials in children.

These include the Right to Health care, the Right to Education and the Right to Housing.

The Review contains an in-depth analysis of the retail and wholesale grocery market in the ACT and has made 15 recommendations to the ACT Government. The ACT Government, in partnership with Westfield, is implementing significant improvements in Belconnen giving people better access to the shopping centre, improved public transport with simpler bus routes, and easier pedestrian access to the Town Centre.
Shane Maloney is an award-winning crime author who just received the Ned Kelly Lifetime achievement award. Join him at the library to learn more about his work and the contemporary interest in crime fiction. Shane created one of Australia’s most successful crime novel series – the Murray Whelan novels: Stiff, The Brush-Off, Nice Try, The Big Ask, Something Fishy and Sucked In. He also writes columns, travel stories, articles and book reviews for various newspapers, magazines and anthologies. Shane’s Encounters page appears every month in The Monthly.

To allow for the extension of Cohen Street through to Emu Bank, Benjamin Way will be temporarily closed between Cameron Avenue and Swanson Court from 5.00pm Saturday 10 October to 6.00am Friday 16 October 2009. During this time work will be carried out to remove the pedestrian bridges over Benjamin Way and Joynton Smith Drive. Following the removal, a new pedestrian bridge over Joynton Smith Drive providing access from the Churches Centre to Westfield Belconnen will be installed. Work to relocate the red pedestrian bridge is complete. The bridge is reopen to the public providing continuous pedestrian access from the Lathlain Street car park to the level 3 entrance of Westfield Belconnen shopping centre.
