ACT Young People’s Plan 2009-14

Submissions close 5.00pm Thursday 5 November 2009.

Reason: underground boring for installation of telecommunications infrastructure

The ACT Government has developed a draft Plan for young people that will guide policies and programs through until 2014.

Five key themes that have been identified as important to young people through consultation are: • • • • •

health, wellbeing and support; families and communities; participation and access; transitions and pathways; and environment and sustainability.

Roadside memorials in the ACT A discussion paper has been prepared with the view to developing a formal policy for the placement of roadside memorials in the ACT. Territory and Municipal Services would like to invite the community to share their thoughts and views on this very sensitive subject.

Draft ACT Multicultural Strategy 2010 - 2013 The ACT Government is seeking written comment or submissions from individuals or organisations on the second draft of the ACT Multicultural Strategy 2010 –2013. Following the initial round of community consultation, the draft includes an updated structure, as well as new content. The Strategy now includes the following six focus areas: • • • • • •

languages; ageing and aged care; children and young people; women; refugees and asylum seekers; and traditions, heritage and religious acceptance.

Calwell Proposed Aged Care Facility: Block 5 Section 790 Were Street The Land Development Agency (LDA) is seeking feedback from nearby residents and traders on the proposal to release for sale Block 5 Section 790 Were Street for the purposes of an aged care facility. The LDA is dedicated to achieving new standards of innovation, excellence and value in urban design and sustainable development. As an agency that develops and sells land on behalf of the ACT Government, our aim is to build better communities for the benefit of the people of Canberra.
