An elderly woman died last month. Having never married, she re quested no male pallbearers. In her handwritten instructions for her memorial service, she wrote, 'They wouldn't take me out while I was alive, I don't want them to take me out when I'm dead.' A police recruit was asked during the exam, 'What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?' He answered, 'Call for backup.' Two boys were walking home from Sunday school after hearing a strong preaching on the devil. One said to the other, 'What do you think about all this Satan stuff?' The other boy replied, 'Well, you know how Santa Claus turned out. It's probably just your Dad.'

At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs. Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and she said, 'Johnny, what is the matter?' Little Johnny responded, 'I have pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife.' A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to 'Honor thy father and thy mother,' she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?' Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, 'Thou shall not kill.' Jokes submitted by Kenny Benton

Prime Timers Dispatch Ministry of Mill Road Baptist Church January 1,2009

“It was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 1:3) Today we live in very unstable times. Culturally moral, ethical and spiritual values are in the grips of revolution. Society is revolting against God and His Word.

It is time for believers to remember that God has called us and enlisted us as servant soldiers to contend for the faith. We must be committed to Christ our Lord and the Truth of His Word. The apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians; Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and

the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph 6:10,13-19 Let us hold the line, by being a good students of God’s Word. Everyone of us must know what we believe and why we believe it. Opinions do not mean a thing. We must be armored with the Truth. Let us hold the line by being committed to living a life of righteousness. Our practice must be consistent with our profession. Today one hypocrite can undo the effective testimony of ten righteous people. Let us hold the line by being vocal and standing for what is right regardless of the personal cost. When it come to the principles of Truth there is no room for compromise, ever. Let us manifest the love of Christ to those with whom we contend and stand against. The Bible tells us to love our enemies. Be Christ like in this cruel and wicked world. Stand fast in Christ our Lord.

The sins of my life were so many And the friendship of my friends seem so cold. Then I heard a voice so gently whisper, Then a vision of my Savior I behold T’was Jesus who bore His cross alone. In love he suffered there to save his own. They crowned His head with thorns And pierced His side It was for you and me He bled and died Are your burdens you carry to heavy Does your sin fill your heart with despair? Go to Jesus with all your sorrow, You’ll always find Him waiting for you there. Oh, sinner don’t you hear Jesus knocking? He’s knocking gently, knocking at your door. Open up your heart and let Him enter, For He may never knock there anymore.
