1. 2. 3.
Ensure that the steerer tube is clean and free of burrs or chips. With all headset components installed, ensure that the steerer tube is cut to the correct length and the proper amount of spacers are instaled to achieve desired stem height. Install the stem body ① onto the steerer tube. Tighten the stem steerer fixing bolts ② to recommended torque rating from table above. Note: Alternately tighten the steerer fixing bolts ② so both bolts reach recommended torque simultaneously. Ensure that bolt threads have a light layer of grease. Note: Stems ST-OS-99, ST-OS-115, ST-OS-120, ST-OS-150 and ST-RO-170 have an additional 1.8mm spacer (MW159) within the clamp area to prevent cracks from developing on carbon fork steerers. Spacers are unnecessary for other models.
4.
Insert handlebar between stem body ① and face plate ③. Tighten face plate fixing bolts ② to recommended torque rating from table above. Note: Gradually and evenly tighten the face plate fixing bolts ② in a diagonal pattern so all bolts reach recommended torque simultaneously. Ensure that bolt threads have a light layer of grease.
