Dear Friends, Fall break is a colorful time of the year. It often reminds us of the varied aspects of God: His creations, His character and His revelations.

young adult news

Dear Friends, Let us give thanks to God for all the volunteers who helped with this year’s Vacation Bible School. We were delighted to have about 125 children meet up at the Bayou to learn great Biblical lessons. It was a wonderful reminder of Jesus call for us to approach His Word with a childlike understanding and meditate on His many promises from Scripture. As adults, we need reminders of these lessons, too! The VBS themes this week were: God is with us. We look to the story of the Israelites who were reassured of God’s love and presence in our lives through His leader, Moses when He says, “I will be with you.” (Exodus 3:12)

God is powerful. We discussed how God sent plagues to those who oppose Him while reassuring His people: “I will show you that I am the Lord.” (Exodus 7:17)

WELCOME

to the family

God does what He says He will do. We were reminded of how God remembers His people as He spares the Israelites at Passover “The Lord kept his promise.” (Exodus 12:42)

Woody and Sydney Woodside and their son, Joey, and their daughter, Stewart, joined SHPC last Sunday, May 31.

God cares for us. We learn again of how the Israelites cross the Red Sea under God’s guidance as He reassures them by saying, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.” (Exodus 14:13) People of God, breath in deeply this good news. You hear enough tragedy in the world, so trust in the Rock of Ages! Fondly,

P.S. Parents: Please have your children wear their VBS tshirts this Sunday, June 7.
