Dear Friends, Fall break is a colorful time of the year. It often reminds us of the varied aspects of God: His creations, His character and His revelations.

Dear Friends,
“Make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, kindness; and to kindness, love.”
Recently, I went to Montreat, NC with my family. I was attending a worship and music conference, and during one of the inspirational worship services, I sensed the Holy Spirit’s love around me! There were over 1,000 people (many professional musicians) who sang about being called to do service for God’s glory...for we were sharing an old, old story! Our daughter, Meg, was a part of a 100 member children’s choir that acknowledged our journey of faith is not always easy, yet they sang with gusto “fear not, you are mine.” Chills came over me, and I heard a message that resonated with what I needed to hear that day...God’s words enriched my story. Many children and youth this summer will have inspirational and moving experiences/ stories such as this at camps and conferences. Maybe it’ll be at places like Montreat or Camp John Knox, but the story-making is more important than the location. Most of us can recall a time or a place of where we felt God’s presence in some way. Maybe in our youth we had such a wonderful experience, and it still is a very significant part of our journey and we can’t forget it. When these events happen, realize that it’s important to keep telling your story about what God has done in your life. It’s what Christians have been doing for a couple thousand years. In fact, just this week our incoming officers shared how God has been working in their lives. It moved us all as we listened. We share all this because Jesus modeled it for us, so keep sharing the work of the Spirit and you’ll be changed. Keep listening around you. Point others to what God is revealing for this is the work of the Church. On the faith journey with you,
