This bracelet makes a common design element, a coiled S-hook, into a focal piece. When combining wire with leather or other cording materials, oxidize the wire first to avoid dipping the leather into liver of sulfur solution.

3. Oxidize and polish the clasp. 4. To estimate the length of leather cord needed, wrap the leather once around your wrist and add 4" (10 cm). Cut with flush cutters. 6. Fold the leather in half. Using the oxidized 22g wire, lash the leather together by coiling wire about 10 times around both pieces of leather about 1⁄2" (1.3 cm) from the fold, leaving a center loop. 7. Slip the loop onto the large coiled side of the clasp. Lay the clasp on your wrist and fold back the leather ends to form a loop around the other side of the clasp. 8. Hold onto the loop as you remove the bracelet from your wrist. Use the 22g wire to lash all four pieces of leather together, forming a coil on that side. Trim leather ends.

pull the excess wire around the nugget, wrap the wire once around the base of the first wrapped loop, and gently pull the wire around to the second wrapped loop. Wrap the wire once around the base of the second loop and clip off any remaining wire. With chain-nose pliers, gently squeeze the end of the wire to flatten it as closely as possible to the wrapped loop.

Before you close and wrap the first loop, slip the loop onto a loop of a completed nugget. Make the centerpiece of three coiled framed nuggets in the same manner. The frame will become a bit misshapen while coiling. When the nugget frame is completely coiled, reshape the coiled frame, using your fingers or chain-nose pliers to gently
