bolero This light little piece looks lovely over a summer dress, perfect to cover your shoulders. The linen in the yarn gives the stitches good definition, showing off the lace pattern and preventing the jacket from stretching. It also keeps the jacket lightweight and breathable.

Finished Measurements 33½ (36¼, 38½, 41)" (85 [92, 98, 104] cm) bust circumference, 17¾ (18½, 19¼, 20)" (45 [47, 49, 51] cm) length from CO to neck edge. Yarn Fingering weight (Super Fine #1). Shown here: Coats HP Løve Lima (38% linen, 31% cotton; 31% viscose; 223 yd [104 m]/50 g): #211 powder, 2 (3, 3, 3) balls. See page 126 for yarn substitution suggestions. Needles U.S. size 1.5 (2.5 mm) and U.S. size 4 (3.5 mm): straight. U.S. size 1.5 (2.5 mm): 24" (60 cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Large-eye tapestry needle; stitch holders; about 67" (170 cm) of ¾" wide ribbon. Gauge 19 sts and 36 rows = 4" (10 cm) in lace pattern on larger needles. Note Work the first and last stitch of every row in garter stitch (knit on RS and WS).

13 sts and 22 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stockinette stitch; 13 sts = 4" (10 cm) in lace pattern.
