Week 8 – Prepping Pitch (Written on Friday 22/03/19) This week I’ve started my making my pitch. I started off on Canva, but I decided that if I wanted to add YouTube videos, that I would have to go to another window. So, from this, I have made one on Prezi, so that I can add a YouTube video if I need to. I started off with my video. I used all the news video that are on my research tab, as these would make a really good intro to the video. I hadn’t decided if I want it to be over a minute or not, because time’s important. Overall, I edited it down to 8 clips and estimated to 53 seconds. When I’m pitching, I want to have at least a threeminute warning so that I have two minutes of talking and then one more minute for the clip to show. I suppose I could put it at the beginning of the pitch, but this video is supposed to be an overview of what homeschooling is. Like a sneak peek. I haven’t had any problems with my pitch this week. I made it early so that I would have more time to adapt it and show the teachers so that I could get their feedback. I also finished my shooting script today. I think it’s finished because I know from previous productions, that when I’ve finished filming I’ve changed all the script because of the responses from the interviewees. This might not be all of the script but major parts I have. I don’t want to say that my whole script is finished because then I won’t be able to change it properly. I think I’m prepared for my pitch. I’m going to practice over the weekend, mainly time myself. I don’t want to have a ‘script’ for the pitch, because I know if I’ve missed something that might add more time. So, I’ll just time myself so that I’m prepared and know how long to talk on each section, I might restrict myself to each section to stay on track.
