Founded in 1977 in Sierra Madre, California, Montecito Fine Arts College of Design now offers a broad range of curricula that includes various art and design fields as well as an ESL (English as a Second Language) program. MFA College of Design’s main campus is located in Monrovia, California, in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, and is a short 20minute drive to Downtown Los Angeles. Montecito Fine Arts College of Design offers comprehensive art, design and ESL education through our three programs: ESL, Portfolio, and Vocational. MFA College of Design’s programs not only puts you ahead of the learning curve through academic and portfolio development, but also ensures your success in the academic and work environment.

VOCATIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION (M-1 Visa) The Vocational Program is a 30-course comprehensive program designed to impart professional art and design skills to students and give them a competitive edge in the job market. The duration of the Vocational Program is three years plus six months of practical training and offers students comprehensive hands-on training taught in a studiolike environment. The Vocational Program is designed to assist students in constructing a top quality, well-rounded portfolio that displays clarity, originality, artistic skill and professional design capabilities that will launch our students into the top tiers of the art and design industry. At the end of the program, vocational students may be introduced to potential internship possibilities to experience up to six months of real-world practical training. Montecito Fine Arts College of Design’s Vocational Program offers 12 unique majors in the art and design field: 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Fashion Design, Film and Video Production, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Game Development, Illustration, Interior Design, Photography, Product Design, and Web Design.

ADMISSIONS POLICY Montecito Fine Arts College of Design has a rollingadmissions policy and registration is on a space available basis. Before students are accepted into the Vocational Program, applicants must take and pass the Ability-toBenefit Test (ABT). To apply, students must have graduated from high school or received an equivalent diploma from a secondary school. If a student is under 18, the student may enroll in the program under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

PROGRAM EXPLANATION AND SERVICES

Montecito Fine Arts College of Design’s Vocational Program operates on a 14-week term. The Vocational Program is a full-time 30-course program. Students enrolled in the program must maintain a full course load (minimum of 30 hours per week and 6 hours of lab time) per term.

Montecito Fine Arts College of Design offers flexible class schedule options; classes are offered during weekdays, weeknights and weekends. College Advising Montecito Fine Arts College of Design employs a full-time advising staff to assist our students in their studies and advise them on their academic and career goals. College advising is recommended to all students interested in matriculating to top-tiered universities in the U.S. Our academic advisors work with our students to schedule classes, recommend colleges and majors of interest, provide information on portfolio requirements, and assist in college planning. We offer two college preparation packages: Gold and Silver. The Gold Package prepares student college applications and additional informational services for up to five (5) colleges; the Silver Package offers the same services for up to three (3) colleges. Both packages offer comprehensive college advising services to prepare our students for entry into a college or university of their choice.
