A session on mainstreaming HIV was facilitated by SMU in the training of Peer educators, which was organized by CEDPA on MCH issues at Barmer.

Continuation…… Follow-up of NGO Workshop was carried out to the NGOs, who Had attended the workshop as stated above, in terms of conducting One to one meeting with NGO representatives. Output: Most of the NGOs have included the HIV issue 

Mainstreaming with Military Personnel:



An advocacy meeting was organized with key officials of military (Shoorveer Battalion) to sensitize them on Mainstreaming HIV .They have realized the importance of the issue and organized sensitization workshop for the spouses of all military personnels at their campus. To facilitate the session Mainstreaming Team was invited to have a session on HIV/AIDS. Military band participated on the twilight of world AIDS day as their contribution

ToT are being made regularly Agenda for sensitization workshop with Media has been finalized and primary liasoning has been done.( Journalism Association of Rajasthan has agreed to take a lead on Mainstreaming HIV) Formation of State steering Committee is under process. Planning for Media workshop has been finalised and planned in November 08. Date of Paralegal training has been finalized on 23rd October 2008. District level Government trainings are going on.

State Council on AIDS at Rajasthan has been formed.



Session of approximately 70 counselors and 40 ICTC In charges on “How Mainstreaming HIV concept can be taken forward through ICTC centres” was also taken by Mainstreaming Unit on respectively 11th & 15th March, 2008.

State Mainstreaming Unit Rajasthan ,Participated in Pushkar Fair, which was organized from 20th November to 24th November 2007.One stall was placed at the fair place and IEC Material was distributed on following topics:  General education material on HIV/AIDS  Gender & HIV/AIDS  Services available for combating HIV/AIDS from RSACS  Youth & HIV/AIDS  Film Show

State mainstreaming Unit has facilitated the implementation of Link Worker Scheme. SMU has supported in identification of field workers for mapping exercise and recruitment of DRPs.



Rajasthan is the first state of getting the agreement duly signed and first installment for the LWS has been released from RSACS.



Participation was also made by SMU in terms of the training for mapping exercise organized for DRPs, Supervisors and Field workers
