Premier National Dance Competition Open to all Premier dancers. Age groups will be determined by entry. 18. Scottish Lilt (4) 19. Blue Bonnets (4) 20. Flora MacDonald’s Fancy (4) Registration is at 1:30 p.m. Dancing will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, July 29, 2007 Southern California Open Highland Dancing Championship 21. 7 & under 11 Years 22. 11 & under 13 Years 23. 13 & under 15 Years
24. 15 Years 25. 16 & under 19 Years 26. 19 Years & Over
Registration for events # 21 – 24 is at 8:00 a.m. Dancing will begin at 8:30 a.m. Registration for events # 25 – 26 is at 12:00 p.m. Dancing will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The California Laddie Special Dance Event Open to all Premier dancers. The 6 steps must be danced in sequence. 27. Under 16 Years 28. 16 Years & Over Registration is at 2:00 p.m. Dancing will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Competition Rules 1. This competition weekend is governed by the rules and regulations of the S.O.B.H.D. 2. All dancers must compete in their own category and age group (based upon their age as of 7/27/07 for all competitions except the USIR). 3. Where noted, age groups will be determined by the Dance Committee according to the number of entries. 4. Organizer reserves the right to combine, split, or delete classes the day of the competition, except for the USIR Championship. 5. First dancer to enter will be the last to compete in each category except the USIR on Saturday. 6. Pre-premier category changes –Please notify the dance chairman, Margo Naismith at [email protected] prior to June 30, 2007. Changes will not be made on the day of competition. 7. Any dancer not ready when called will forfeit entry in that event. 8. All competitors must be in highland dress to receive awards. 9. Dancers must fill in for Reels as required. 10. Dancers must present SOBHD Registration Card at the time of registration. 11. Judge’s decision is final. Any protest must be in writing, signed, and handed to the Dance Chairman by the end of the competition accompanied by a fee of $30, that would be refundable if the protest is sustained. 12. This is a non-refundable entry fee 13. F.U.S.T.A ID W-38 14. A donation of $2.00 per competitor will go to FUSTA Western Region. 15. PLEASE NOTE: all competitor numbers and tickets will be distributed at the Irvine Marriot Hotel.
Prizes Medals and Trophies will be awarded for Primary, Pre-Premier, Pre-Championship, and Premier National Dance competitions. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded for the California Laddie Special Dance Event. Junior 1st $375, 2nd $250, 3rd $150, 4th $100, 5th $75, 6th $50 Senior 1st $375, 2nd $250, 3rd $150, 4th $100, 5th $75, 6th $50 Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded for the Southern California Open Championships.
