The Social Contract By Anthony J. Fejfar, B.A., J.D., Esq., Coif © Copyright 2008 by Anthony J. Fejfar The Philosopher Rousseau wrote the book the “Social Contract.” In that book Rousseau argued that citizens of a country have a social contract with the government to protect their individual rights.
I also argue that the social contract includes the positive
rights of food, clothing, housing, medical care, education, etc. One might say then that the Social Contract is an insurance contract with which persons contract with government to ensure a good life of human flourishing. Thus, white males are entitled to welfare along with racial minorities and women. Ideally, the welfare net would provide for volunteer jobs so that welfare to some extent becomes workfare.
